TEHRAN (IQNA) – The director of Iran’s Islamic Seminaries called on Muslim nations, governments, elites and media persons to support the oppressed people of Palestine.

Ayatollah Ali Reza Aarafi

In a letter addressed to the Islamic world’s personalities and interfaith figures, Ayatollah Ali Reza Aarafi said with the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation launched on October 7, the world witnessed the rising of the Palestinian resistance against an enemy that has usurped the Palestinian land and trampled upon the rights of its oppressed people.

The Al-Aqsa Flood Operation was the humiliating defeat of the evil Zionist regime and proved that the Islamic resistance is a firm and steadfast force that has the capability to plan and carry out successful offensive operations against the occupiers, he stated.

Ayatollah Aarafi added that the usurper regime has launched a campaign of killing innocent women, children, and elderly people with the support of the deviated Western civilization and the oppressive US government.

That the Zionists are committing open genocide and violating human rights and international laws on a large scale, he noted.

Referring to the Israeli regime’s brutal attack on a hospital in Gaza that killed more than 500 people, he said it shed light on the barbarity, viciousness and desperation of the Zionists in the face of Palestinians’ legitimate and sacred defense.

Ayatollah Aarafi said the Iranian Islamic Seminaries commend the historic victories of Palestinian resistance groups and condemn the Israeli regime’s war crimes as well as normalization of ties with the occupation regime by certain Muslim countries.

The Iranian Islamic Seminaries call on all of the governments, nations, and scholars of the Muslim world and the Muslim and Arab elites, students, artists, and media persons to stand with the oppressed people of Palestine with all their power and prepare the ground for the fulfilment of divine pledges and the removal of the cancerous tumor of Israel from the Muslim world and the Middle East, he went on to say.

In the letter, Ayatollah Aarafi also called on international bodies to work for putting an end to the massacre of Palestinian women, children and sick people.

The Al-Aqsa Flood Operation was carried out by the Hamas resistance movement against Israel on October 7 in response to the Israeli atrocities in occupied territories and its violations of the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

It included missile attacks on occupied cities and ground assaults on settlements near Gaza. That operation plus retaliatory missile strikes by Palestinian resistance groups left hundreds of Israelis dead.

Following the operation, the Israeli regime launched a campaign of murder and destruction, killing over 4,100 people, mostly women and children, in the Gaza Strip so far.
